The National Education Union (NEU) have declared strike action, which is scheduled to take place this week on 27th April and next week on 2nd May. The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the unions and the government, and not because of any issues at school. We recommend that you start to make alternative childcare arrangements for these dates.
The school will be open for Year 11 and Year 13 and identified vulnerable students on 27th April and 2nd May only. There are a few identified Year 10 classes that will run on these days too and parents will be contacted separately.
I am sorry for the disruption to you and your child’s education. I understand this situation is frustrating and the impact of strikes on our students has been significant. I regret the impact this is having on our community. We are trying to ensure those students about to sit public examinations are impacted the least. Bishop Challoner remains committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our students and delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
Thank you for your co-operation and understanding. My apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Yours sincerely
JP Morrison
